ART IN HOSPITALS
Encouraging South Yorkshire Artists

These three panels were commissioned to mark the 50th Anniversary of the NHS. Hand dyed fabrics and dense machine stitching on a calico base were used. Panel #1 contains the statement by Aneurin Bevan on launching the NHS, and Panel #2 is the mission statement of this NHS Trust. The pictoral Panel #3 shows a local event where the campaigning GP from Edlington, Dr O'Donnell, heralds the new NHS.

The panels were unveiled on 5 July 1998 by Paul Adams with his mother Mrs Brenda Adams, Paul being the first baby to be born in Rotherham under the new NHS.
