BOTANICAL DRAWING WORKSHOPS

Graphite or coloured pencil on black or white paper drawing workshops designed for those who wish to learn the art of Botanical Illustration or who have some knowledge of the subject and wish to improve their existing skills. Experience is not necessary just a desire to work in detail and a love of plants.


Each workshop is on a Thursday, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.  Cost £45

23rd March 2017 – MARCH FLOWERS 
Use pen and ink with an optional touch of coloured pencil to illustrate flowers found in our gardens in the month of March

6th July 2017 – ROSES IN THE STYLE OF REDOUTE
Illustrate roses in the style of botanist and artist and artist Pierre-Joseph Redoute (1759 – 1840). Graphite and/or coloured pencil

7th September 2017 – PAST THEIR BEST!
Have fun drawing leaves and flowers that are way past their best, shrivelled up or have nibbles taken out of them. Maybe add a snail shell to complete the picture? Graphite and/or coloured pencil

30th November 2017 – WINTER WOODLAND
Draw winter twigs, lichen, mosses and bark using graphite pencil with a touch of coloured pencil.  Graphite and coloured pencil combined.

Join Peggy at this lovely location to make a machine quilted jewellery roll, using your own choice of fabrics.  It will be easy to make with no zips, but will have concealed pockets and a padded band to hold your rings. Mini Masterpiece Textile Postcard Workshop

Hand stitch your own ‘mini masterpiece’ – a postcard size textile based on an Artist’s picture using simple stitches, fabrics, threads and transfer crayons.  Artist postcards to base your design on will be available.  Materials included.
